Words With Friends - Justice

What is justice? Like most of the words we have been exploring this Summer, it is in many ways in the eye of the beholder. Our experiences of justice and injustice determine our understanding and use of this word, and there are many voices telling us what it should look like. One of the most popular texts from Bible during these times is found in Micah 6:8, “Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your God.” It calls God’s people to action, but doesn’t provide clear instructions as to how we might actually obey the command. Let’s begin a conversation in our community about how we might seek God’s direction in this vital area of Christian discipleship.

From Series: "Words with Friends"

Words are the primary means by which human beings communicate meaning to one another. The Church, the Body of Christ, uses particular words to tell others about the precious and life-changing truth of the Gospel and the Kingdom of God. This is part of how we love our neighbors. However, can they depend on us to care enough about their lives, that we might do the hard work of being clear about what we mean when we use words like Sin and Salvation, Repentance, Truth, Heaven and Hell? Who gets to define these terms? Join us this Summer as we seek, together, to illuminate the vocabulary of the Christian faith, for the Glory of God and the benefit of our community.
