How Do We Love: God (Week 1)

How do we love God? God does not need our love, yet He commands it. The Ten Statements (a.k.a. Commandments) in Exodus, Deuteronomy, and reaffirmed by Jesus in Matthew 22:37 state that the greatest and foremost command is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." Why are we commanded to love God when he does not need it? What does "love" mean when it is centered on a wholly perfect God?How can we love God with our head, heart, and hands? What clues do we find in the life of Jesus that helps teach us how to love God? Does it matter more or less when we love God "as a community/church"?
