CloseThe resurrection matters. It mattered to Jesus’ early followers. They must have thought themselves foolish when he was killed, but it soon became clear that the living Christ embodied the wisdom, grace, and promises of God. Everything changed for them and history was radically impacted by their belief. Jesus’ friends acknowledge that being human puts us in a vulnerable place spiritually, morally, and physically. But the resurrection – and our belief that Jesus is alive – affects all of that. Because Christ lives, our present life (and our expectation for the life to come) is filled with trust in God, hope, and anticipation. Because the resurrection is true, the wisest among us will practice belief that aligns with this good news. https://storage.googleapis.com/sermonarchive/2018/Easter/040118.11A.mp3
